- Abstract
- A simple and automatic phase calibration method is proposed for phased arrays with even conformal aperture shape. The method is based on finding the optimal phase set such that the detected power of the receiving array from a transmitting extra antenna or, by reciprocity, that of a receiving extra antenna from the transmitting array is only maximized, using a continuous genetic algorithm (GA). This method provides a much,faster and almost exact solution, when compared with exhaustive search and traditional binary GA. (c) 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
