- Abstract
- Solid-State Drives (SSD) have been widely used for high throughput and low latency. Scale-out storage system for block storage service adopts SSDs to provide more bandwidth and quality-of-service (QoS) for multiple users. Since hybrid multi-tiered storage system using both SSDs and HDDs is limited by HDDs' overheads, many companies (e.g., Pure Storage, SolidFire, EMC) propose all-flash storage system. In this paper, first we provide an analysis of state-of-the-art all-flash storage systems. Second, we implement a representative baseline all-flash storage system. Lastly, we analyze the system performance, and propose some optimizations. Our evaluation shows that the proposed storage system outperforms the state-of-the-art storage system. Our storage system outperforms state-of-the-art all-flash storage systems
