- Abstract
- Crystal plasticity model (Visco-plastic self-consistent) was applied to a 304 austenitic stainless steel sample. Only the austenitic phase was considered, i.e. the martensitic phase transformation during deformation was neglected. Using the x-ray diffraction methods, texture information for the material was obtained. The texture information was used as input into the VPSC code to compute the stress-strain curves, the texture development and the Lankford coefficients. Although deformation-induced transformation was not accounted for in the model, a reasonable agreement was obtained between experiments and predicted results.
