- Abstract
- Virtual machine live migration is an essential feature of virtualization technique. KVM is a widely used open source hypervisor. However, many researches pointed out the weaknesses of KVM live migration mechanism. In this paper, we summarize the weakness of KVM and proposed two kinds of efficient live migration methods: 1) Efficient live migration technique by utilizing disk cache and memory snapshot
2) History based max downtime controlling method. We successfully implemented those two techniques on a prototype of hybrid desktop as a service environment and performed experiments to observe the efficiency of both migration scheme.
