Abstract
The prediction for the curvature factor of rolled strip after rolling is significant and essential for the quality control of the rolled strip and the safe working conditions for the workers. In this paper, based on the FE simulations, we investigate the effects of various parameters of strip and working condition on the strip curl. According to the very difficult of considering all the parameters and the less impact of some parameters, we mainly consider the effect of velocity-mismatch ratio, reduction ratio and shape factor on the curvature factor of rolled strip. The results got from the FE simulations are also compared with existing correlations. From the data above a new curvature factor prediction model is founded by using the Finite Element Method. The prediction accuracy of the new model is examined by checking the results of some different test rolling simulations. Then the correspondence and deviation are also analyzed.
