- Abstract
- We investigate phenomena of multistability and complete chaos synchronization in coupled period-doubling systems. Bifurcational mechanisms for both a loss of chaos synchronization and multistability formation are described and their relation is uncovered. Multiparametric analysis of special families of stable and saddle periodic orbits shows generic "interior" bifurcational processes that determine a variety of complex dynamics in interacting period-doubling systems. In particular, we find that for decreasing coupling the bifurcational cascades for symmetric saddle periodic orbits determine loss of chaos synchronization and multistability formation.
