- Abstract
- © 2022 IEEE.A new methodology that can extract the electrical and physical profile of an unknown radome in real-time is proposed and studied at 76.5 GHz. Denoted as Real-time Inverse Scattering Estimation (RISE), this method utilizes the inversion of scattering matrix using minimal parameters. The accuracy of this method is maximized through a decomposed and weighted selection of the TE/TM polarization. Experimental investigation confirms that we can extract the permittivity and thicknesses of random radomes within 0.4%, 1.4% deviation, respectively. This method can be further instrumental for application such as high precision, rapid non-destructive diagnosis for sensing, flaw detection, and extensive analysis.
