- Abstract
- Ferronickel slag is an industrial by-product obtained during the ferronickel production process. FeNi slag is produced more than 1 million tons per year by domestic manufacturers, but the recycling rate is only 56%. In the current study, in order to improve the recycling rate of ferronickel slag, the effect of addition of ferro nickel slag on the quality of sintered ore was confirmed. This study was conducted to understand the change in phase, chemical composition and effect of sinter quality in terms of the change in the addition of the ferronickel slag up to 15% in the sintering temperature range (1200℃). Through XRD analysis, it was confirmed that FeO, Ni, Cr and SFCA phases were increased. In addition, it was confirmed that when the amount of ferronickel slag increased, the quality of the sintered ore was improved by the increase in SFCA phase and FeO component. Tumble index (TI) increased from 96% for Blend 1 to 99% for Blend 4. Reduction disintegration index (RDI) increased from 44% for Blend 1 to 95% for Blend 4.
