Abstract
Simulation of the dynamic recrystallization behaviour during hot rolling process were performed for non-oriented electrical steel using precipitation and microstructural calculation interface, MatCalc. Experimental verification for the simulation was carried out through hot rolling simulation and qualitative microstructure and precipitation analysis. Comparison of experimental and calculated values was made in three aspects: size of total grain, the degree of grain boundary pinning by the precipitates, and the recrystallized fraction and the size of the recrystallized grains, respectively. As a result, the dynamic recrystallization fraction with deformation temperature showed a good agreement with the experimental data, and the size of the recrystallized grains showed high similarity. In addition, iterative grain boundary pinning force calculation according to specimen composition shows that nitrogen, sulphur, copper and titanium has deleterious effect in terms of designing non-oritented electrical steel but the aluminium shows beneficial effect in low nitrogen and sulphur content.
