Adjacent channel interference (ACI) can cause serious performance degradation in certain frequency bands when multiple LTE systems are deployed near each other. This paper proposes a more accurate ACI model to calculate the interference power from the adjacent system. A dynamic system level simulator is used to show and analyze the throughput loss as a function of ACI ratio (ACIR) at 2000 MHz. Effective ACIR to guardband mapping functions are derived to determine a more accurate guardband for coexisting LTE systems to satisfy the throughput loss requirement.-
