dc.description.abstractOur main objective is to ensure the efficient loading of steel coils onto a ship, considering their different sizes, customer specifications, and the absence of designated positions on the vessel for the coils. This paper addresses the challenges posed by real-world constraints in the steel-making industry and presents a mixed-integer programming model for solving the ship stowage planning problem. Moreover, we have developed an algorithm that considers the diverse characteristics and specific requirements of steel coils. Furthermore, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm using actual industry data.-
