- Abstract
- With rapid advancement of ICT (Information and Communication Technology), information service for factory stakeholders has been available in the name of Smart Factory Service (SFS). Solutions supporting information service has been developed and used for a numerous societal sectors. As far as manufacturing, or factory service; i.e., SFS is concerned, not a many cases are found. Further, it is found that information middleware system developed for SFS shows a limited feature in data conversion between shop floor and applications of SFS.
In this thesis, a data conversion problem was studied so that it can be flexible in operation and addition of the new application service between shop floor and application. Specifically, a reference architecture enabling flexibility was systematically developed by: 1) Stakeholders’ requirement, 2) Systems requirement, followed by 3) Systems architecting. The developed architecture has been implemented in a prototype and applied to an industrial project under development for establishing information service where multiple shop floor points and multiple SFS applications are dynamically changing in iron and steel making process.
