Abstract
OFDM based systems should provide a high data rate for users at the cell edge. The spectrum efficiency must be improved significantly, and interference mitigation techniques should be reconsidered to satisfy the performance requirements and QoS for users throughout the cells. This paper extends the results of earlier studies on interference problems for the fractional frequency reuse (FFR) scheme using a system level simulator. The transmission power ratio of users in the cell center to those at cell edge is varied, and the user throughput is calculated to find the optimum transmission power ratio of 0.3.
