The (100) texture can be evolved through the γ→α phase transformation by cooling in Fe-Si alloy systems. This phenomenon is promoted in Fe-Si-Mn-C alloy systems. But, it is difficult to what affects evolution of (100) texture at the surface because manganese and carbon coexist together. Therefore, the single effect of C on the (100) texture evolution at the surface of Fe-Si-C alloy systems through the γ→α phase transformation was investigated by alloying C to Fe-Si alloys. Effect of annealing temperature, annealing time, and atmosphere were scrutinized. The results indicate that strong (100) texture developed at the surface when the alloy undergo the γ→α phase transformation by cooling.en_US
