Abstract
In this paper, the dynamic characteristic of the drivetrain system for the wind turbine was analyzed. A mathematical model considering flexibility was established according to the geometric characteristics of the Low Speed Shaft, Intermediate Shaft, and High Speed Shaft. Especially, dynamic characteristics of the shaft were defined by stiffness of shaft, beam, to represent bending coupled motion between components which are connected by the shaft. A proposed mathematical model was compared to a torsional model, and physical means of phenomenon were defined by reference data about gear mesh. And various simulations concerning eccentricity problems, nacelle movement were accomplished using the proposed model and expanded degree of freedom. Also, a variable gear mesh stiffness was established to supplement the steady gear mesh stiffness. To show validations of the proposed model, comparisons of these stiffness models were conducted in a specific situation. A specific situation was defect of a gear tooth signal which was applied in a generalized force repeatedly. These results were analyzed in the quefrency region to give differences between two gear mesh models about magnitude of vibrations and simulation environments.
