Abstract
In the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the inductances, especially the q-axis inductance, vary depending on the current due to the local core saturation. Accurate motor parameter values, including inductances, are a vital factor for an accurate angle estimation in the speed sensorless control. In this work, an on-line inductance estimator is constructed together with a sensorless algorithm. An interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) model is described in a misaligned coordinate frame, to which the gradient algorithm is applied for an identification law. The parameter identifier is linked with the sensorless algorithm exchanging angle error and inductance information. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
