- Recently, plasma display panel (PDP) is causing radio frequency interference (RFI) problems in the frequency range below 30MHz. In this thesis, low frequency RFI characteristics of PDP TVs were investigated experimentally to find out the emission sources. The CISPR 11 is chosen for establishing the performance requirements. The results of the 3m-distance and the near-field probe measurements indicate that the measured H-field levels are very high in 1 MHz ~ 7MHz. Y-sustain board and Z-boards were found to be the significant sources of the radiated emission.
The radiated emission from inside of PDP TV can be sent easily to outside areas via the heat vents of PDP TV. The re-radiated emission level from heat vents is affected by the size and the shape of the heat vents. The radiated emission from the heat vents are studied theoretically, and investigated using the electromagnetic simulation
